The Ministry of Health established the Rwanda Health Management Information System (R-HMIS) to strengthening data collection, reporting and data use. It is from above exercise we reviewed and updated all HMIS reporting forms based on current health sector priorities and data management SOPs based on recent IT audit recommendation. The aim of the review process was to strengthen system controls to enhance data reliability and simplify data collection processes at the point of care. Considering several important changes made, there is a need to conduct a training of trainers on new upgraded HMIS functionalities, data management SOPs, case definitions and explain rationale of all changes.
The Ministry of Health is organizing a five days training session with public and private hospitals data managers, Chef Nursing and Director of Health unit at District level from 21st to 25th October 2019 at La Palisse Hotel in Nyamata, Bugesera District.
This course aimed to provide much information on the workshop conducted by the Ministry of Health in collaboration all stakeholders ( Parteners and Health facilities) In order to upgrade and harmonize HMIS data collection tools and system. In this regard, the Ministry of Health organized a two weeks working session with all M&E teams from all programms the staff involved in data management from Partners and selected Hospital data managers . during the workshop the following activities related updating, harmonization of different data collection tools ,development of different SOPs and data management manual development .The customization of changes made on the data collection tools was to strengthening data collection, reporting and promotion data use and decision-making.
data quality is the key point of all decision and planning
