Medical equipment in a Hospital

MEMMS, abbreviated for Medical Equipment Management and Maintenance System, is a web based portal designed to help maintenance staff at the public health facilities in Rwanda perform their functions more efficiently, and to help Ministry of Health managers to gain visibility over the management and maintenance of medical equipment. MEMMS is being implemented at Provincial and District Hospitals, Health Centres, and some Referral Hospitals.

More specifically, MEMMS is designed to help in:

  • Enforcing the establishment of standardized processes for management and maintenance of medical equipment and spare parts;
  • Increasing the efficiency with which those processes are executed;
  • Improving the information available for operational and strategic decisions;
  • Improving the health services provided to the population.
