Ethics in Health Care Practice


The focus of this module will be on Ethical issues or tensions, ethical principles, professional values, clients’ rights, technology, digital Health, Social Media, and their related ethical issues in health care delivery. in addition to this, the participant will be present with ethical deliberation models as a useful tool to handle various ethical issues.

Aim of the Module: 

Enhancing health professionals’ knowledge, attitudes and skills necessary for the exercise of health care practice guided by moral principles and code of conduct 

Module Objectives:

By the completion of this module, the participant will be able to:

  1. Apply knowledge of principles of ethics, ethical tensions, professional values, and patients' rights, while providing health care service

  2. Explore the impact of ethical decision making on patient care in Rwandan contexts.

  3. Consider ethics related to the health service delivery through web-based telemedicine or other telecommunication methods

  4. Appraise health professional values and obligations while delivering healthcare services in the spirit of ethical principles respect
