Many patients have complex health needs that require the expertise of multiple health professionals. A consistent communication and collaboration between different fields can ensure client-centered attitudes. Inter-professional collaboration allows sharing of expertise and perspectives and involves the client in decision-making to form common health goals. This module will help you acquire knowledge and skills as well as understand the utility of Inter-professional collaborative practice towards patients, family and community centered health care.  It outlines the concepts of IPE and IPC and the evidence in the literature that supports this form of practice.  The focus is to provide to the health care professionals in depth information related to principles guiding IPE/IPC and its related competencies, as well as the requirements for effective inter-professional team work for the sake of quality improvement.

 

The module is comprised of a pre-test, two topics including; IPE/IPC Introduction & IPE/IPC Principles and Competencies with quiz at the end of each topic, case studies and finally the course assessment.

 

The module will take at least 3 hours and the participant will acquire 5 CPD credits
